Introduced in 1927, the Type 43 paired the supercharged 2.3 litre engine from the Type 35B with a shortened Type 38 chassis, making it the first production car to exceed 160 km/h. Renowned for its balance, strong brakes, and refined suspension, it offered race car handling with grand touring elegance. Produced until 1931, it later evolved into the Type 43A before being succeeded by the Type 55.
