History

According to the RM Sotheby's catalogue for Grand Raid roadster 57260 (Monterey 2011), sedan 57111 had been stored with its engine apart since the late 1940s and was later acquired by the same owner as 57260. Because 57260 lacked its original engine, the radiator, front axle, complete engine and gearbox of 57111 were transferred to 57260 during its restoration by Alan Taylor, who also photographed 57111 extensively and used it as a reference for originality.
