The Bugatti Type 35 is widely regarded as the most successful racing car in motorsport history. Introduced at the French Grand Prix in Lyon in August 1924, it was designed by Ettore Bugatti as the definitive Grand Prix weapon of its era. The car featured a supercharged straight-eight engine producing around 128 hp, distinctive polished alloy wheels with integral brake drums, and a lightweight yet aerodynamic body that set the visual template for the Bugatti racing marque. Between 1924 and 1927 the Type 35 achieved over 2,000 race victories including five consecutive Targa Florio wins from 1925 to 1929, making it the most race-winning car of the pre-war period. It gave rise to a full family of variants: the Type 35A (touring version with plain bearings), the Type 35B (supercharged, the most powerful), the Type 35C (with a Roots-type compressor), and the Type 35T (bored-out Targa-spec engine).
