History

Chassis assembly began on 17 July 1923 and the car reached Bugatti's Paris agency on 7 August 1923, where Andre Buot of Azay-le-Rideau bought it and commissioned the Lavocat et Marsaud torpedo body, registering it on 29 August 1923. It then passed through a continuous chain of French owners: Rene Jack of Montrichard (1929), Marcel Salzard of Blois (1930), Maurice Boucher of Bourges (1931), Marcel Apied of Bourges (1934-1970), Roger Louis Nachtigall of Le Raincy, Paris (1970-1991) and Michel Berthelot of Gournay-en-Bray (1991-2009), who restored it in 1993; it also appeared in the 1984 film 'Mistral's Daughter'. An Italian-registered owner acquired it on 1 July 2009 and commissioned a major restoration…
