History

Chassis 57558 was delivered in June 1937 to Alexis Baptifaut, president of the Paris shipping company Chargeurs Reunis, as a Ventoux coach. After the war it moved to Belgium, and by the mid-1950s to North America. It was later owned by actor Nicolas Cage, from whom the current Australian owner acquired it in September 2002 on a Californian title. During a multi-year Australian rebuild completed in late 2008, a new aluminium body in the style of Jean Bugatti was crafted by Graeme Smith, painted by Bellbrae Panel & Paint, with mechanical work including a supercharger by Greg Smith.
